About Us

Why are we called Fools? The Bible says about Christians: "We are fools for Christ". This refers to how faith in Jesus is more important than human wisdom. In 1983 several people were called to start a Christian bookshop in Upminster, and in 1990 we opened our doors. Our objectives are:

Not to belong to any one church
Tell people who don’t usually go to church about Jesus
Be a place where people can bring questions and worries to receive prayer and support where possible.

How can I help?

There are a number of ways you can support our work:

Become a prayer partner (ask to join the mailing list)
Become a volunteer on a regular or occasional basis
Provide home-made cakes for us to sell
Be a regular and loyal customer
Support us financially
Let your church to support us as a local mission

For us to continue as a Christian presence in the High Street we must be financially viable.

This is a challenge and your support is needed for us to succeed as a retail business.
